Harbeth Monitor 20

|
Widely used since its introduction in 1990 throughout BBC sound and vision TV galleries, digital workstations and OB`s, the Monitor 20 is a modern classic and offers a remarkably full scale sound that belies its extremely compact dimensions - about the size of a shoe box. Magnetically shielded, the 20’s can be sited immediately adjacent to Grade 1 colour monitors which makes them ideal for nearfield
monitoring in desk top sound and video editing.
The heavy two-way sealed box has a skillfully contoured bass response and an even, natural response across entire audio band. The solid bass weight combined with the accurate presentation of programme and excellent stereo imaging means that wherever space is at a premium and a true monitor is demanded, the Monitor 20 is the perfect solution. |

The two-way BBC LS5/8 (see xxxxxx) has been the primary monitor used in broadcasting for more than 20 years, and has characteristics which are familiar and understood. In common with other BBC designed (or derived) monitors, the 5/8 gives a `relaxed` presentation of performers that places them in a diffuse plane - a `curtain of sound` - quite unlike the newer generations of commercial monitors which subjectively push the performer out of the box into the lap of the listener. |
