Densen |
While Thomas Sillesen was studying he started to import hifi. Just for fun and earn some money. It went alright, but he was not overly ecstatic about it. He thought it had all become cynical business and felt that none of the products had any real soul or performed the way he dreamt of. So he decided to make his own hifi. The first amp was the now legendary DM-10 integrated amp. With this amp alone he got 14 distributors in one week at the London hifi show. It all grew from there.
When he invented Densen he wanted the products to have a clear philosophy and that is what you read about in Design Concept on this webpage.
The products are very personal. They are basically a piece of Thomas. Here is a couple of examples. On the DM-10 and B-100 the volume knob is on the left side and input selector is on the right. Normally you would have it the other way around. However, Thomas is left handed and that is the reason!

There is no output for headphones on our products. The reason is that Thomas does not like to list to music though headphones.
So in that respect we do not make products the way the marked would like us to make them. We make them the way Thomas would like them to be. This way the products have soul and personality. Thomas also has a clear vision of how the products should sound. |
